Located in: Gresham, Oregon Submitted: May 12, 2011 Tell us a little about yourself. Im the founder of Eternal Perspective Ministries and the author of over forty books, including my fiction books Deception and Safely Home and my nonfiction works The Treasure Principle and Heaven. My wife Nanci and I are the parents of two married daughters and we have four wonderful grandsons. I enjoy hanging out with my family, biking, tennis, research and reading. What was your motivation behind this project? Ever since I wrote the first edition of "Money, Possessions, and Eternity" in 1989, Ive wanted to write a smaller book that dealt with the whole realm of Christian stewardship. (My book "The Treasure Principle" is a smaller book, but is specifically on giving.) "Managing God's Money" puts the cookies on the lower shelf, so to speak, yet it challenges readers and deals with a great many issues, from insurance and inheritance, to gambling, saving, and debt. It also lays a biblical foundation for us being the managers of God's assets, hence the title "Managing God's Money. That theme of stewardship is woven throughout the book. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Our perspective on money and possessionsand how we handle themlies at the very heart of the Christian life. The Bible emphatically demonstrates that how we view our money and possessions is of utmost importance. What we do with them will influence eternity. I pray that readers will be touched and their lives forever changed through embracing Scriptures exciting perspectives on being Gods money managers. How were you personally impacted by working on this project? The title of this book, Managing Gods Money, is not some cute, figurative expression. Its a precise depiction of what the Bible says I amGods money manager. One day, I will stand before God and give an account of how Ive managed what belongs to him. Have I taken good care of it, using it wisely for purposes he approves of? Or have I misused or wasted it? Its a revolutionary concept that changed my life and my familys. If you embrace it, I guarantee it will change your life as well. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? R. G. LeTourneau, a man who understood Gods purpose for blessing him financially, is an example of a generous giver who inspires me. An inventor of earth-moving machines, LeTourneau reached the point of giving 90 percent of his income to the Lord. As he puts it, I shovel out the money, and God shovels it backbut God has a bigger shovel. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: One of the other things I'm excited about is that even though Managing Gods Money is a smaller book, it has a substantial amount of information in it. The list price is very affordable and the book is well-made. My prayer is that God uses Managing Gods Money in many peoples' lives. Readers might also like to know that 100% of the royalties from my books go to support worthy Christian organizations around the world. Find Related Products |
