I purchased this DVD thinking that it would be a great way to communicate the strategies for getting along with siblings to my younger children, but this DVD is not really geared for kids. The video was filmed at a conference where the Mally siblings spoke on the same conflict management techniques covered in their books, so the subject matter is good, but the format is not exactly what I had in mind from the info on the back cover of the DVD. This DVD is great for adolescents, teens and parents, but I would suggest skipping it if your intending it for kids who can't read the book for themselves.

I read the book to my children a couple years ago and it really helped their relationship. But as time passed, they returned to many of their bad habits toward one another. So I thought this DVD would be a great refresher, but you just can't cover much in a 50 minute video. So, if deciding between the DVD or the book, as usual, the book much better than the movie.

We have 5 children and endless squabbles. Two of my children have had a lot of resentment toward each other for several years. Sitting down together to watch this DVD was a real blessing to us as it offered very practical advice presented in an engaging way. My husband kept pausing the DVD to talk about the issues discussed on it and wants our kids to watch it over and over again. The very best thing is the fact that it was made by kids themselves. They did a great job and I believe it carried a lot more weight with our children than it would have if it was an adult lecturing them. I would highly recommend it to families that have older children. I'm very hopeful that the lessons taught will make a lasting impression in our family.
