Helping Teen Girls Become Real in a Fake World
You've seen the reality TV shows, but sometimes it's still hard to know what's "real" today. It can get especially confusing if you're learning what it means to follow Jesus and become more like him, yet society has a different idea of what you should be like. But when you focus on the right things, you start the kind of makeover that turns you into the real you God has created you to be.

Head to Soul Makeover is a 10-week small group study that will help you become more real like Jesus as you develop your humilityk confidence, courage, self-control, patience, contentment, generosity, and perseverance.

Each lesson is tied to a reality show like American Idol, My Super Sweet 16, and Fear Factor, and you'll take quizzes and try the Makeover Challenges to help you grow your faith and deepen your character. It all culminates with the "Big Reveal Party" where your group will celebrate your transformations.

'Teen girls often struggle with stubbornness, insecurity, anxiety, stress, irritability, and envy---which can be crippling at this critical stage in their lives when they're forming their adult identities. Through the lens of culturally relevant television reality shows and magazine-type self-quizzes, this 10-week small group study will guide teen girls through an upbeat curriculum to transform their lives from head to soul. By exploring eight Christ-like character qualities, the study helps girls put discipleship into practice with a weekly 'Makeover Challenge,' and then wraps it all up with a 'Big Reveal' party. The participant's guide contains ten complete lessons, including discussion questions, self-assessments, Bible study guide, group exercises, and daily journaling pages. The leader's guide includes guidelines for facilitating a group, the complete text of the participant's guide, helpful hints for the group exercises and discussion questions, and handout pages to copy.'

Shelley Leith is on staff at Saddleback Church where she developed the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign. She's the co-author of Character Makeover: 40 Days With a Life Coach to Create the Best You, and has combined the character makeover concepts from the book with the appeal of television reality shows in a teen girls' curriculum, Head-to-Soul Makeover: Helping Teen Girls Become Real in a Fake World.
