Brittany_BnBblogAge: 25-34Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Made to Last - Melissa Tagg (4 Stars)February 24, 2015Brittany_BnBblogAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4In Made to Last, Miranda Woodruff stars as the host of From the Ground Up, a homebuilding show based in her North Carolina hometown. Although she is known nationally for her show, she works at maintaining her privacy and secrets from her fans and the media. As a talented woodworker and experienced homebuilder in her own right, Miranda attributes her handyman knowledge to her "husband," who always remains behind the scenes. When the network threatens to cancel her show, Miranda's producer comes up with a plan to save the day via a lookalike to the fiance who abandoned her years before. Miranda's world is turned upside down when Matthew Knox, a reporter with his own career to save, begins to shadow her every move and takes up residence in the cabin on her property. Unfortunately, that means the truth about Miranda's fictional husband may hit the blog-o-sphere sometime before breakfast.
Filled with unique characters, Made to Last offers an interesting perspective on the world of reality television and the facades that people build around themselves, whether as stars, reporters, or everyday people. While Miranda discovers the price of the secrets and lies constructed around her on-screen persona, Matthew realizes the truth behind his own priorities and decisions.
Overall, I thought that Made to Last was surprisingly well done and much better than I initially expected. I found the beginning portion of the book started off somewhat slow, but it picked up speed in later sections.

Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Lovely Romantic Comedy!February 16, 2015Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Miranda Woodruff hosts her own homebuilding television show, but lives in an unfinished house, has an imaginary husband, and is plagued by her past; a recipe for disaster when a handsome reporter comes sniffing around for a story that will rebuild his own career. As MIranda's ratings begin to plateau and whispers abound that the network may not renew her contract; her managers come up with a daring plan; to showcase Miranda's husband, who of course, does not actually exist.
This lovely romantic comedy starring Miranda Woodruff, Matthew Knox, Blaze Hunziker, and an-awful-time-to show-up-again former fiance, might take a few chapters to take off, but the resulting ride is exhilarating; and the ending is one that any story would love to have. Melissa Tagg is "here to stay" as a talented writer of contemporary romance with a solid inspirational heartbeat.

IreneUnited States5 Stars Out Of 5I would read this one again....May 22, 2014IreneUnited StatesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really enjoyed this modern Christian love story. I gave this book 5/5 stars. You read so many books set in different time periods so to read one set in the here and now was fun. The characters were very real to life and could easily be people you watch every day. I liked the interactions as the conversations were amusing and intelligent. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a clean Christian fiction story. I would also recommend this to anyone who enjoys reality television.
I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
Jolene4 Stars Out Of 5December 14, 2013JoleneQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3When Miranda Woodruff's fiance left her three years ago, he left gaps both in her heart and in the backstory of her television show, From the Ground Up. Miranda's on-screen personality has a husband who taught her everything she knows about home building. So when rumors and questions arise about her husband, Miranda agrees to pretend to be married. Finding a pretend husband turns out to be easier than expected. However, when attractive reporter Matthew Knox begins poking around, Miranda finds her on-screen story and her real life both wearing thin. Will Miranda sacrifice everything to save her show? Or will she find that truth really will set her free? Read more in Made to Last by Melissa Tagg.
I enjoyed Made to Last, Melissa Tagg's debut novel. This book had a lot of hype and it took a little longer than I would have liked for the story to "hook" me. However, once I really got into it, the story offered refreshing originality and Tagg's writing style was lovely. Though it's classified as a romantic comedy, Made to Last, has plenty of depth and development. I cheered for the characters as they faced life's challenges and lessons.
Just a heads up to anyone who, like me, is keen on plenty of resolution. The ending was sweet, but there were several unresolved situations and issues. It appears that there will be another book that continues Blake's story. However, from the synopsis I read, it doesn't appear that Miranda and Matthew are a focus of the story. This leads me to assume that those issues will mostly likely not be addressed.
Overall, Made to Last is a sweet and entertaining story. However, I recommend renting before purchasing if you have an issue with stories that lack resolution.
