First off, John MacArthur's teachings "are the old paths" (Jer. 6:16) and it is such a blessing to be able to find trust worthy notes like the Pilgrim's Geneva bible of old.... Had this existed 30 years ago, my walk might have had less bumps! This commentary has been the saving of many a Bible Studies when the debates get going, and people ask what a verse means without looking for some feel-good or far-fetched allegory. And has provided answers to questions which I had years ago. A must have for an Believer who wants to actually "FOLLOW CHRIST".

Excellant for what it is. But is not what I was looking for. I am looking for a bonded leather carry bible with verse by verse commentary included.

Very good book. I am enjoying looking up the verses for clarification. The maps and the summaries are super. I also enjoy the Interpretive Challenges that are covered. I made tabbies - wish I had thought to purchase a set for the book, as they help with going right to what you need to look up. This book is perfect as the "Study Book" portion to go with your regular bible. It is for the NKJV translation, but can be used with any translation.

A very good comentary to have in your home. It has great maps and graphs. This does not replace a good study bible, but rather it adds to help you with historical backgrounds of each passage. It goes into more detail about each book of the bible than I've seen in study bibles. Over all it will be a book I grab when I want to dig deeper into what I'm reading in Scripture.

I brought this book to help me in school and it has provided me as a great resource to turn to when I have questions. This book outlines the entire Bible wonderfully verse by verse. It will help you grow in your understanding of God's Word.

I live and breathe this commentary. John backs up his commentary with scripture from other sources in the Bible, so I know it is not just an educated opinion.
