Product Description

Loved by Choice offers a clear and uplifting look at adoption from virtually every perspective. It is comprised of true stories that reflect the joys and the difficulties of those touched by adoption. Families working out an overseas adoption, those creating interracial families, grandparents, birth mothers, and even birth fathers are among the many who tell their stories. Two appendices define adoption terms and outline resources that will be helpful to those exploring adoption. The emphasis of Loved by Choice, though, is to demonstrate how adoption can conplete a family. It's a poignant celebration of adoption, led by those who understand it best. This book's pro-life, positive, and upbeat message will be a welcomed source for women facing pregnancy choices, anyone working with unwed mothers, adoptees, adoption advocates, couples considering adoption, and anyone else interested in stories that celebrate adoption. It is an ideal book for bookstores and libraries to display in November, which is Adoption Awareness Month. Loved by Choice will also be popular at many adoption-related conferences, book readings, and fairs that take place around the world.

Author/Artist Review

Author: Jeff Adams

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am daddy to three year-old Meaghan, the husband of Rosemary for ninteen years, and indebted to so many people, including Geri Pool, who encouraged us to continue our adoption search for more than fourteen years. I am the contributing author of the story, "The Smile of God".

What was your motivation behind this project?  So many of us become discouraged because of the process of adoption. I want to encourage birthparents and adoptive parents to not give up.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  We hope everyone who reads these stories will see we are all "Loved By Choice".

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Jack Cavanaugh, author of the American Family Portrait series, my very dear friends Judith Dupree and Rebecca Farnbach, and many other members of the San Diego Christian Writers' Guild encouraged me to tell Meaghan's story.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  God chose to adopt us. He gave us much more than his name. He gave us hope for the future.
