I'm thrilled with this beautiful tote! I was initially surprised at it's somewhat smallish size because I didn't really think to read closely and consider the stated measurements which are accurately represented here, although the inside dimensions are slightly smaller at 9.5"x10.75"x3.5" due to the double row of outer stitching which makes this bag so durable and attractive. I simply assumed it was larger, but this is not in any way a complaint, I rather like this handy size; it nicely fills a niche in my tote 'collection'. I'm finding it quite versatile and much more practical precisely because it's such a useful size. It perfectly accommodates my bible, which is inside a large size bible cover of this same design, as well as at least another good size book or journal and a full size cosmetic or pencil bag. Both the tote and the bible cover are beautiful pieces of very high quality. The construction is the best you're going to find in this price range and maybe even higher. Artist Nel Whatmore's talent with color is truly amazing, and the pictures do not do justice to these bold, refreshing and joyous blooms that so nicely coordinate and compliment each other on a pretty aqua and rich chocolate background. I love the way the scripture reference is done, from Deuteronomy 6:5, the most important commandment according to Jesus. The writing actually looks like art on it's own. The fabric has a classy, almost satiny look, and it is a delight to touch, belying it's actual vinyl-like properties which make it seem easy to clean, too. The bible cover and tote are both very well constructed with double stitching in many key places. The tote has no interior or exterior pockets, and no velcro, zipper or snaps for closure, but since I'm also using the coordinating bible cover which does have two exterior pockets and a pen loop, I find I don't need pockets or a closure on the tote, and I think it would detract from it's over all artistic appeal if it had them. As far as value for the price, it depends on what you're after. If you want a bag that's fresh, lovely and well made, and a look that is sophisticated but not snobby, bright but not juvenile, professional but not severe, this could work. It's value is in it's beauty, versatility and durability. I hope to see more like this from Nel Whatmore.
