Join five active senior ladies—and one gentleman—who take a great interest in the lives and loves of their single grandchildren and become The Matchmakers. Zarah Mitchell and Bobby Patterson become the first focus of meddling grandmothers when he moves back to Nashville to work for the Tennessee Criminal Investigations Unit. Will Zarah be able to forgive the man who years ago chose a military career over her—especially when she learns he is investigating the historic preservation agency for which she works? Editorial Reviews The book has a wonderful mix of humor, drama, suspense and romance that kept me reading without fail. I really enjoyed the Christian fiction aspect of this book as it emphasized good morals with realistic day to day life of a Christian. "Love Remains" is full of historical insights due to Zarah's job at the Middle Tennessee Historic Preservation. It was a great mix that offset the predictability of the novel along with a few twists. I would recommend this novel for readers age sixteen and older. It is sure to be enjoyed by many. Dacus uses a mix of light-hearted banter, close-knit friendships, family bonds, unique setting and a tender romance that left this reader very satisfied. I'll definitely be looking for book two in this series!
While this is a dreaded reunited first-loves book, I actually really enjoyed it. I usually find Kaye Dacus's books adorable and with characters that make me happy and this was no exception.
Overall: Another great read from Dacus! This is another good book by Kaye Dacus. I loved her first series and her historical books and this series is just as good. I love the beginning where we meet the Matchmakers. I also love both Zarah and Bobby. Zarah works with the single ministry and once again I could Identify with Zarah being a 30+ single and the issues that come from that. I loved Bobby too, I felt for him at times with his job. Watching the story unfold was good to see and one side story there is the mention of a musical which just happened to be my favourite movie and the book has given me some new insights into this musical. I love the grandparents and there role in the book. I cant wait to read book 2.
Kaye Dacus tells a delightful story with real characters. I loved Zarah in this book--she was so realistic, down to her insecurities, her shape, her struggles, and her personality. She was not your typical perfect, fluff of a female character. The author made me love her.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of this Matchmaker series. As usual Dacus’ characters entrance and delight readers...Dacus has not only very mechanically clean books but weaves in plenty of realistic comedies of errors and other comic relief scenes that keep the tone of her novels light even when dealing with serious topics. Some authors seem to just throw in “a scene for laughs” or try too hard not to bog down a story with highly emotional moments that what should flow naturally from the plot and characters becomes stilted and contrived. Kaye has a knack for knowing what fits and what doesn’t while keeping the plot moving smoothly.
Kaye Dacus pulled me in and onto an adventure with her first book in the Matchmakers series. This first book is about a couple who didn’t have enough trust in each other. The thing I loved about this book is that the older ladies do not give up when it comes to hooking people up. God is at work here and it takes a whole lot of trust and forgiveness for Zarah and Bobby to get back together. Zarah is determined to not get her heart in the way but Bobby is a man not yet willing to give up. The love they have is still there and with God’s help it gets stronger every day. This is definitely worth reading, especially for those who believe that love can conquer anything...especially family. Great job Ms. Dacus!
