Good pace for English person learning Spanish I really like the respectful and medium pace of the speaker - she is very clear and precise, yet not too slow. I am trying to learn Spanish and this is a great way to do so. When I bought I thought it was a more updated version being used. The Bible version being read seems to be the RV (1909) - but so far I have found it to be accurate as far as the meaning/translation of God's Word (more so than the modern 1960) (for example: Juan 1:4, 1:5 - use of el and ella - in 1960 version) So even though at first I was disappointed that this was a much older version ( and I have only started listening and learning from it) I am please with the clear reading, good pacing, well pronounced wording and so far good accuracy in the New Testament. Can't update this later unfortunately as I use it more. So this is a beginner in Spanish review. For those who speaks Spanish - I would like to know if this still be considered usable Spanish for Latin American speakers (I live in California). If not, which versions are the most current in language usage for Latin American Spanish in Western US area? I tried the NVI (seems a bit too complicated in its Spanish at times to me) The 'La Biblia da las Americas' - is easier reading and I like it the best so far (I have CDs for it also - but the speaker on that one is much faster and not as clear. Hard to use for learning how to pronounce words). I also like the DHH version - but I haven't been able to find any audio for it. Hope this speaker will do other versions in Spanish. And hope that some will be done with dramatization too. Again, really like her voice and how she does the reading. Good for learning and nice to just listen to also. Hope this helps. Cant hear a thing! the audio is not working on the web so that i can hear an excerpt. Please fix it so that I can hear it, maybe I'll buy it. March 6, 2009
