When Stormie Omartian was a child, her mother would lock her in a closet and say, "You are worthless, and you'll never amount to anything." How did a young girl who grew up in an abusive home learn to overcome her past pain to find emotional wholeness as an adult? Lord, I Want to Be Whole offers seven steps that helped Stormie overcome clinical depression and live a more fulfilling life. She shows readers how prayer and the encouragement of Scripture can help them come to terms with their past. She also tells how to find deliverance from spiritual oppression and negative influences, learn to receive God's gifts and believe the good things God says about us, become aware of deceptions and misconceptions, and maintain emotional health by taking care of our bodies and being sensitive to what is happening inside us. Lord, I Want to Be Who helps those who are troubled by depression find emotional wholeness and become all God made them to be
Rhonda Marshall5 Stars Out Of 5best study book everOctober 23, 2014Rhonda MarshallQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought this book to pass along as I have done so many times before. This book really changed my life forever and I can not recommend it enough. I have taught it several times to women groups and have had other friends even use it in a womens Sunday School class.
It really made me see who I really am and because of my growing up years why I react the way I do. This book helped me release so much bitterness and hurt. Thank you Stormie for writing this book.
Janis Sellers5 Stars Out Of 5May 14, 2010Janis SellersStormie Omartian, the author, had battled severe depression for a very long time before she found relief. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who battles depression, I also battle anxiety, which only worsens my depression. It is popular belief in the Christian community, that people with depression, aren't close enough to God or they are sinning habitually. Sometimes, that is the case, but sometimes it is not. Stormie tells how she was a Christian and she read the Bible daily, but her depression was still there. My depression continues to stay with me, whenever I'm close to God and whenever I've wandered away from Him, but my depression is easier to deal with when I'm closer to Him. Some people find relief from depression when they find God, and some only find depression easier to deal with when they find God, but the depression still haunts them. For me, I think I inherited depression, I had no traumatic experiences as a child that brought it on, but like many members of my family I do have an anxiety disorder, ADD, and depression. Although they are not severe, they still cripple my personality, and I find it hard to function on most days. Stormie has a way of writing, in which she reaches out to the readers heart, she doesn't just give advice that she thinks people need, she gives advice she knows people need, because she has been there. She lays out a simple and Biblically based guide line to healing your tormented mind and soul, and finding peace and relief from depression. The book is explicitly based on Biblical principles and overall she shows you how to find the peace God longs to give you. Even if you don't suffer from depression, or any other emotional problem, it is still a fantastic book to read if you want an overall sense of peace in your life. I would recommend this to any and everyone. If not now, at some point in your life you will need the Godly advice in this book.

Frankie Keith-Garner5 Stars Out Of 5January 2, 2008Frankie Keith-GarnerThis book is an excellent tool to help women who are struggling to find their purpose as a woman of God. After losing my first husband at a young age, I felt I had lost my purpose. This book showed me that I might have lost my earthly mate, but the love of my life should be Christ and that no relationship on earth is as important. I now use this book in my ministry to give to wounded hearts that God brings into our bed and breakfast and into my life. Thank you Ms. Omartian for being used of God!
G Taylor5 Stars Out Of 5June 27, 2005G TaylorThis book has made such an impact in my life that I am actually using it in our women's bible study group. It has proven to be an excellent aid to help women deal with those deep issues that many churches never really venture into. It causes you to take your relationship with Christ beyond the "just church as usual" state. If you are seeking true deliverance and wholeness in your life and you want to now become the "new creature" that you are to be in Christ, you MUST add this book to your library. I am grateful for Mrs. Omartian's honesty in sharing her life with others. You are truly being used of God to bless the women of our ministry.
