Lone Star Intrigue is two books in one. It is the first two books in the Lone Star Intrigue series, Texas Heat and Texas Pursuit. I had wanted to read both of these books when they first came out, but never got the chance, so I was happy when the chance came along to read this book. It was well worth waiting for. I really enjoyed both of these books and the best part was I could go right from the first one to the second one without having to wait.

Both of these stories were interesting and it took me no time at all to get into the stories, but I really liked Debra's ability to create a relaxing setting despite the turmoil and suspense of the actual stories. I love authors who are able to do that because the setting and overall feeling of a book are two things that are important to me. I really liked the feeling and mood of both Texas Heat and Texas Pursuit, but the setting was what really made an impression on me. It was a place I really enjoyed spending time and it created a relaxing backdrop to the suspenseful and romantic stories. That is something I really respond positively to in a book.

Overall, Lone Star Intrigue was a real pleasure to read, and again I was happy to be able to go right from the first story in the series to the second. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait to read the third story, but it will be worth the wait. I am certain of that, just like these stories were worth waiting for.
