God created mankind with glory, full and rich weightiness, a significance that consisted of being made in his image. Man reflects God in a way that none of the rest of creation can; his very purpose is to glorify God, to live in him forever. But when man fell into sin, part of that image was twisted and man fell from glory.
In this theological, exegetical, and systematic work, Tom Barnes explores the much neglected topic of glorification, that is, of man's final restoration to a state of perfection. He answers such questions as, When does glorification take place?, What does glorification consist of? What is Jesus Christ's role in glorification? What is the purpose of glorification? And perhaps most significantly, How does this doctrine of glorification affect us now, living in a fallen world, living in the hope of future glory?
Tom Barnes, a Theology instructor at the Dayspring Center For Christian Studies and senior pastor of Living Hope Evangelical Free Church, is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia (B.S.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois (M.Div), and Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota (D.Min.). Tom lives in Ft. Collins, Colorado, USA with his wife, Karen, and their three children.

Tell us a little about yourself. I pastor Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Fort Collins, Colorado and also am a theology instructor at the Dayspring Center For Christian Studies in Fort Collins. I have been married to Karen for 21 years. We have one married daughter and a daughter and son still at home.
What was your motivation behind this project? There has not been a work on the glorification of the believer since Bernard Ramm's book, THEM HE GLORIFIED, in 1963. While doing doctoral work in the early 90's I realized that this vital doctrine had not been addressed and decided that the Church needed someone to do the study and the writing.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope readers will gain a greater understanding of the glorification of the Christian and that it will give them great hope and encouragement for present life, relationships, struggles, and work.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? John Piper, Jerry Bridges, Thomas R. Schreiner
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My prayer is this book will help build reader's faith and give to them a God-centered vision of who they are, what their purpose is in life, and what God has awaiting us in our future glory.
