I really enjoyed reading this book. I learned so much about the men who risked their lives and livelihoods to provide this great country I call home! So many of these men, who should be lauded, are now unknown and unsung! We should be learning about these heroes, and others like them! Instead we spend our time watching and 'worshipping' people that have not done anything worthwhile enough to be called "American idols"! These men would be heartbroken if they could see the way some Americans waste their lives that they fought so hard for!

I gave this as a gift for my father-in-law's 80th birthday. He seemed to enjoy it. A hardback version would have been nice for a gift, but it wasn't available.

Pure history. Written in 1848 and published as originally written, this collection of biographies would have been read by people who would have grown up at the feet of the signers. To me this adds credibility to any written account. The footnotes give great insights into current events prior to, durring and after the Revolution. The complete Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation and Constitution are a bonus.

It was interesting reading a text book written in the 1800s when God was so much apart of our children's education and our schools. Learning the lost history of the start of our great nation, each signers biography, and the intent of our founding fathers was very informative.
