Lectio Divina, Latin for divine reading, is the ancient Christian practice of communicating with God through the reading and study of Scripture. This Bible study builds on this practice, introducing modern readers of the Bible to the time-honored tradition of "listening for God" through His Word incorporating silence, reading, meditation and prayer.
Lectio Divina, Latin for divine reading, is a series of Bible studies that calls Christians to slow down, read Scripture, meditate on it, and prayerfully respond as they "listen to God" through His Word. Both 1 Timothy and Titus deal with issues of church administration and were particularly designed to strengthen the young leaders as they combated persecution and false teachers. 2 Timothy contains the warm, final words of a loving mentor to a dear friend. Paul warned Timothy to be careful, to be strong, and to be faithful to the end. At the precipice of martyrdom, Paul pointed both Timothy and Titus to the true source of salvation: "The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen."(2 Timothy 4:18)
