I chose this study because it was a very different way to study courage and strength. We purchased the book, the Safari guide and the videos. I would strongly suggest the videos , even if you are reading the book. She does go over a lot of the same points as in the book but there is so much more on the video, and she is funny. As someone who choses studies for a group of 50+ women each year, there were some things I did not like about this study. The book and guide gives you all the scripture you need to answer the questions - many women did not like the fact that we did not even have to open our Bibles - How do you study the Bible if you don't have to open your Bible? The Safari Guide asked too many personal questions, wanted to study more scripture. Also, she pulls scripture from the Message version a lot. While it is an easy version to read, there were a lot of people questioning the meaning, and validity of the scriptures she chose.
This was the most inspiring book I've read in years. Maybe I was just at the place where I needed the motivation between the covers, but I must say that this spoke to me in a way no other book has. After reading it I felt bolder, more confident, and ready to do what God has called me to do! A must read for women everywhere!
I really don't have much to say about this book....Good concept, it was OK, and I kind of liked it... But I just couldn't get into the writing style....I also felt like it was more of a journal about the author. The book started out good...but then it turned into too much of Lisa Bevere and not enough God...
I was not given/did not win this book in trade for a review. I actually bought this book, and decided to write a review on it.
