This volume is thorough and concise. It covers the most important words, phrases, and idioms within a given Scripture. This book, along with BDAG, is what I use almost entirely for developing my classroom material.
This replacement for Rienecker and Roger's "Linguistic Key to the Greek New Testament" (1982), by Cleon Rogers II and Cleon Rogers III is a vastly expanded and greatly improved version of the original work. Rienecker was dropped from the author's list, and Cleon III was added. Rienecker's (as it was affectionately known) can still be used to great benefit, but this work is far superior. We used this work in our Intermediate Greek class at MABTS in 1999, and I still keep it on my desk. I reach for Rogers before almost any other Greek reference work. Combined with Mounce's "Complete Expository Dictionary of Old & New Testament Words" (2006), almost no other work is necessary for the pastor preaching from his Greek NT, though Kittle remains necessary if one is writing for theological journals, etc. Well worth the cost at twice the price.
