Because it was inexpensive in ebook form, and the author was Ronald Nash, I bought it. I have been very pleased so far (not quite finished with it yet). The late Nash had a prolific writing career, of which this is a useful part.

Nash takes a somewhat different approach in this book that appears to be intended as an introduction to Philosophy. He uses some history of Philosophy, along with some broad analysis, to help us start thinking about those "Ultimate Questions." Having taught Philosophy for a long time using texts with a more 'traditional' approach, I find I like this, and might use it for a class text.

Do be aware of two things: if you are an completely beginner to the field, you might find this approach a bit daunting. Also, Nash is a very 'Christian' philosopher, which is obviously reflected in this work.

My brother, chaplain A.R. Reid, said what needs to be said about this book. I only have one word to add: MASTERFUL!

I got this book as a compliment to a class I am taking. The information is presented in a clear and concise manner. The author makes a very complicated subject understandable to an average reader.

Lifes Ultimate Questions is far more than an introduction to philosophy. Its a weapon for blowing away high-minded humanistic thinking. I read Lifes Ultimate Questions for the first time in 2003 while doing a combat tour in Iraq. Ive been reading Nash ever since. His books are meaty and yet clear as crystal, and a pleasure to read. But best of all Nashs works are practical. And this introduction to philosophy is no exception. I was sorry to hear that Ron Nash passed away this year. He will be missedat least by me.

This book is more than an Introduction to Philosophy or a clear guide to such major philosophers as Plato, Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas. It is an important resource for Christians who want a grounding in philosophy that will help prepare them to think more clearly about Christian truths.
