Great Product
This is a great set to use. It is laid out well, and covers a good amount of material. The only thing I dislike about these books is the fact that there is not a lot between when they are given the spelling word list, and when the spelling test is. I have taken to giving the entire list of words at the beginning of the unit in order for them to have time to learn them. I am pleased that the word list seems to be more on track for 4th grade, as the 2nd and 3rd grade lists seemed way to simple for that level. These sets are very affordable as well, for those wanting to homeschool on a budget.

I was hesitant to purchase Lifepac since it was our first exposure to the series and I remain on the fence concerning Lifepac. I would recommend purchasing at least one grade level above what your child can do as some of the content is still super easy. My child is in 3rd grade and the 4th grade language arts is fairly easy. The spelling words do not present a challenge whatsoever. I would also suggest purchasing a different curriculum to teach cursive. Expect a lot of repetition in the layout and form. I believe there are more exciting ways to teach language arts, but for this year it 'gets it done' for us. I will most likely return to putting our own language arts curriculum together next year.

This was the second time I have tried AOP LA, the first being during 1st grade, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and now with 3rd grade... now not so much impressed. It seems disjointed and jumps around somewhat. My son has some learning disabilities and it will be difficult for him to remember from one book to the next what was taught. I think I'll be looking to use LLATL instead.
