This history curriculum reinforces sharing, differences in people, responsibility and so much more. I like the lesson and the self tests at the end so you can see how effective you have been teaching and what the child has learned and comprehended.

The title is History & Geography; this is neither. It appears to be basic anthropology. It appears much more like kindergarten than first grade.

We love this curriculum! My chilren have learned how to be a good friend and to love and get along with others. This study is very helpful in teaching your young ones about how Gods world should be lived in. God bless your works.

I love it how Christian Book has this labeled "social studies" instead of history, as the publisher incorrectly labels it. If you understand that you are buying a social studies program (as I did) you will love this Lifepac set. My son is learning a lot of things that I had not thought of teaching him so thoroughly. We are talking a lot about communication, which is helpful in training him in manners and the way he presents himself. We are covering street signs and safety as well. I think it's nice for my son to be grounded in these things before we move into a history/geography program. The workbooks are inviting and colorful, but most of the meat of the program is in the TM. You must understand that Lifepac first grade is very very teacher-led. It's not hard to teach, and it takes me about 20 minutes to go through an entire weeks' worth of Lifepacs, highlighting what I choose to cover. But it does require a teacher. If you want to do a little talking and introducing, and want to cover social studies, you may want to consider Lifepac First Grade History/Geography (which is social studies!)
