Jen Rosio1 Stars Out Of 5Saps the joy from Bible studyMarch 26, 2014Jen RosioQuality: 2Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1It's fantastic to have a Bible class where there is an answer key. I love that. However, the benefits of this curriculum stop there. About a fourth of the questions in grade 7 Lifepac Bible are confusing. Some of the answers cannot be found in the text or in the assigned Bible reading for the day. For example: Page 8, Book 702: "Select two compound words from this section and write them here:" Okay, that's a great question, but the text said nothing about compound words, nor how they related to the creation of man. The answer key lists "understand" and "mankind" as two compound words. But --- what does that have to do with the lesson? And after reading the text twice, those were the only two compound words I could find. Also, while the questions are good ones, the answers cannot easily be found in the day's text or in the day's assigned Bible reading. As a result, the student earns low grades even after undue extra time. I am convinced this is sapping the joy from my son's eagerness to discover the Bible. I'm sorry I bought this. Sadly, I have nothing else to recommend. I've looked a long time and sampled a lot of middle school Bible curriculum. There is a market for this niche, that's for sure.
