Product Description

"From the Publisher:" A fictionalized but historically accurate retelling of the biblical story of Rahab and her rescue from Jericho. Uses a large, and primarily male, cast with the possibility of doubling. Set requires three playing areas - a main one in the center and a smaller one on either side. This play is excellent for school use or anywhere that a full length, full cast play is needed, and it will be appreciated by both the church and nonchurched. Royalty: $30.00/$20.00.

Author/Artist Review

Author: Kevin Stone
Located in: Overbrook, Kansas
Submitted: January 31, 2003

Tell us a little about yourself.  My wife and I and three children live in Overbrook, Kansas, a bedroom community of the capital, Topeka. I pastor the Overbrook Bible Church and teach high school drama part time. I've been writing my own plays for about twelve years.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I was listening to a sermon on Hebrews 11, and the story of Rahab grabbed me. I remember thinking, "What a great story for the stage!" and I started writing it that same day.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  My desire is to exalt God's merciful forgiveness in redemption. I hope all who read or see the play will have a greater appreciation for life and for God's grace.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My favorite authors are John Bunyan, Elizabeth Elliot, C. S. Lewis, A. W. Tozer, and James Thurber. My favorite plays for the stage include "The Miracle Worker," "A Man for All Seasons," "Macbeth," and "Tartuffe." I also find much inspiration in the music of Twila Paris and the sermons of Charles Spurgeon.
