I hate interruptions!
"I sat watching football with my husband Steve. His team was on the one-yard line, first and goal. On the second play, the opposing team intercepted the ball. Steve threw up his hands in disgust. When I laughed, Steve sent a murderous look in my direction.
"What struck me as humorous? Life. We have it all figured out. We're certain of a touchdown. We taste sweet victory and then we're suddenly swamped with defeat. But it isn't always funny. Yet, just as the players in the football game, we can learn to adjust to the unexpected."
Sometimes we ant to scream, "Don't interrupt me while I'm living." Yet INTERRUPTIONS often rudely interrupt our plans and step on our future. If we could write out our life on a sheet of paper, we'd plan it perfectly. We'd decide when to meet "Mr.Right"." We'd plan our wedding for a sunny spring day. We'd honeymoon in Bermuda, and it wouldn't rain. We'd time the arrival of our first child at the most convenient time-when we had well-paying jobs, a large home with a fenced-in yard, and a minivan parked in the garage. Yet, despite our well thought-out plans, INTERRUPTION rears its ugly head.

LISA HERRIN was widowed at twenty-nine with an eight-year-old son. She took her tragedy and used it as a steppingstone to becoming a hospital chaplain, Bible teacher, speaker, girl's club coordinator, and state women's ministry director. Since remarrying, she helped develop a ministry to married couples-Hearts 2 Home. Lisa and her husband, Robert, minister to the Church of God in Plant City, Florida.

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm married to a wonderful man, Robert. We were both widowed at early ages. Between us we have three children: Joe, Latese and Torrey. We have three grandchildren: Noah, Karson and Schaunie. Robert and I pastor a church in Florida and share in a ministry bringing healing to couples called, Hearts 2 Home. In addition to these ministries and writing, I enjoy teaching a Walk Through the Bible Class and working as a co- ordinator for our Girl's Club mentoring and prayer ministry.
What was your motivation behind this project? The overwhelming motivation for this project was to encourage others to never give up in the face of adversity! This is a "You Can Do It" kind of book!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? As we enter our day or look to our future we entertain certain expectations. Oftentimes, ourexpectations don't make allowances for life's cruel and unusual twists. This book is written to cause us to re-evaulate our perspectives and to be encouraged when life isn't what we expect.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My all-time favorite authors are Calvin Miller, John Ortberg, Chuck Swindoll, Philip Yancey, and Max Lucado. I also enjoy books by Dr. Henry Cloud, Dr. John Townsend, and Dr. Paul Meier.
