We sometimes wonder why bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. This study of Job answers those questions as well as other issues. For example, God is just, but His way of resolving an issue may be different from the way that we would want, or expect, Him to. Also, our view of Him as an eternal ATM machine is one that is distorted.
This is the best interpretation of the dialogues and meaning of the Book of Job I have read over my 35+ years of Bible Study. It gives new insights into the culture and frames more clearly the arguments of Job and his 3 friends. A must read for those who study the meaning of suffering and the supremacy of God.
This was a great find for me! It appears to be one of the best commentaries on the Book of Job and provides easily readable and understandable Scripture analyses. I am very, very pleased with this purchase!!!
This book really explained Job to me. I can understand better what Job's "friends" were saying, and what Job was saying about his situation. Stedman's explanation of Elihu, the fourth critic, was credible and logical. I have gained a new understanding of what God was saying by including the book of Job in the Bible.
