kat5 Stars Out Of 5Liberty KidsSeptember 2, 2016katQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I watch this show with my older son and he really enjoyed it. now I am watching this show again with my daughter who is 9. she really enjoys interactions between the characters. she loves that Benjamin Franklin is in it. my parents live in Yorktown Virginia so of course my daughter thought it was cool that that's where the Revolutionary War ended. I understand the previous reviewers points of view. this series is good for learning the basic history of our country. We as parents need to make sure they learn the rest.
S LangstonNorth Carolina4 Stars Out Of 5Well produced while a little dissappointingAugust 27, 2016S LangstonNorth CarolinaQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3My seven year old granddaughter enjoyed these emensly. I thought they were worth the price. The main idea that ran throughout the dvd's was that all human life should be valued; the enslavement of humans was wrong, that the disregard of the dignity and rights of Native Americans was wrong, and that the prejudices against nationalities other than your own was wrong. While these are values a Chrisitian can appreciate, I expected Biblical teachings to be expressed to validate them, and they were not evident. Also, it was a little dissapointing to find that Christian life-practices, such as prayer before meals, was not shown when several opportunities existed to do so.

Great series!June 22, 2016AmyBurlingtonAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We've been watching this series with our 6 and 8 year old and we all love it! It's crammed full of information on American history I didn't even know! I love how the main characters are young and journalist-types that are quite inquisitive. The series isn't incredibly Christ-centered, which I was kind of expecting since I purchased it from CBD, but it's not offensive either. My only complaint concerning it is the theme song--I don't know what the producers were thinking! And one line in the song specifically says, "I'm looking for a hero to idolize" which gave us a great opportunity to talk about how the only hero we idolize is Jesus.

Q: Any violence? My kids are more sensitive to violence than others. Considering this is about a war, can anyone give me any specifics as to what is shown. I understand that there's probably not bloody battles or anything, but I guess I'm asking about how much peril, death, and violence.
It's been a while since my kids watched this show, but I dont' remember violence being excessive. The focus was really more on the history and characters. It's a great tool for kids to learn about history. One of our product reviews for this DVD set states "My 6 year old loves it and the content isn't too intense for his 4 year old brother to be in the room with him."
