I bought this for my 6 year old daughter in kindergarten. While I love some of the other books from Christian Liberty Press that we also purchased, this book was very disappointing and my daughter refused to go past page 3. This is 320 pages of black and white addition and subtraction facts with very little variance in other math activities. The only way to make this book work would be to purchase the entire K5 program and do only 2-3 pages of math per day in addition to the rest of the program, which I think is the intention of the publishers anyways. Otherwise this book is just too boring and dry for a small child to keep interested in. Thanks and God bless. :)
I have been using Liberty Math K with my 4-year-old daughter, and we both love it! There are no frills, which is perfect for an easily distracted little girl, and yet the material is thorough and progressive (i.e. it begins easily and slowly builds upon itself as the book continues). I love the slower pace of the book, as it does not throw too much at her at once, and she can take her time and really learn the material. As well as working with the numbers, there is a lot of practice writing the numbers, and her visual recognition of numbers from 1 to 100 has greatly improved. Overall, a great beginning math book!
