A beautiful compilation of inspirational writings, featuring six classic works in one box set:
The Screwtape Letters
A Grief Observed
The Problem of Pain
The Great Divorce
C. S. Lewis's works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year, appealing to those seeking wisdom and calm in a hectic and ever-changing world. Each volume is written with the lucidity, warmth, and wit that has made Lewis revered as a writer the world over.
From The Problem of Pain—a wise and compassionate exploration of suffering—to the darkly satirical The Screwtape Letters, Lewis is unrivalled in his ability to disentangle the questions of life. His writings offer hope, wisdom, and a true understanding of human nature.
Clive Staples Lewis was born in 1898. Known as "Jack" by his friends, Lewis and his good friend J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, were part of a writer's club, The Inklings, who would meet at the local pub to discuss story ideas. Lewis's fascination with fairytales, myths, and ancient legends coupled with inspiration drawn from his childhood led him to write The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, one of the best-loved books of all time. Six further books in the immensely popular Chronicles of Narnia followed, and the final title, The Last Battle, received the Carnegie Award, one of the highest marks of excellence in children's literature.

Anthony Shuler5 Stars Out Of 5Must reading!January 22, 2011Anthony ShulerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5One of the best collections of books available. A must own collection for everyone. Containing Lewis' monumental work on apologetics that forever changed the debate as we now know it in Mere Christianity. His fascinating book containing fictional letters from a demon to his nephew that walk you through a man's entire life and show how the demon is trying to bring about his damnation in a way that will both entertain you educate you about spiritual warfare in The Scewtape Letters. The moving and brutal honest collection of Lewis' feelings as he wrote them after the untimely death of his wife in A Grief Observed. The entertaining story of a bus full of people traveling from Hell into Heaven and the conversations they have and the things they experience while there in The Great Divorce. A discourse on miracles that has both theological and apologetic value for the think Christian in Miracles. And a book explaining the nature of pain and resolving the age old question of how a good God could allow it in The Problem Of Pain. You will be thrilled, entertained, moved, educated, and fascinated as you read your way through some of the finest works by one of the finest authors of modern times.
Jimmie Scott5 Stars Out Of 5September 22, 2010Jimmie ScottI really liked the quality of the books. I have some of the originals and am reluctant to loan them out as they are hard to get as well as fragil. It was great to have you send the "Great Divorce" to a man in prison as well. I would have not been allowed to send him the book.
Q: Does the books MATCH exactly as the display picture? I mean, the box and the books, are they exactly the same looking as in the picture? Or does it look something like this (http://www.christianbook.com/mere-christianity-c-s-lewis/9780060652920/pd/2926X?event=CF)? I would highly appreciate if you could actually answer my question rather than listing the stock number as last time. Thank you very much.
The stock numbers in the previous answer were listed to clarify exactly what books are included in the boxed set. The actual image on the box matches the image on CBD stock number 208493. It is not the stairway design. The web image will be updated shortly.
Q: Does this boxed set have the content as the C.S Lewis classics softcover and hardcover with the exception of "The Abolition of Man"? http://www.christianbook.com/the-c-s-lewis-signature-classics/c-s-lewis/9780061208492/pd/208493?product_redirect=1&Ntt=208493&item_code=&Ntk=keywords&event=ESRCP#ask_and_answerhttp://www.christianbook.com/the-complete-s-lewis-signature-classics/c-s-lewis/9780060506087/pd/506083?event=AAI#ask_and_answerAre there any significant differences between the three?
The only difference in the three sets, besides binding differences (WW208493 & WW506083 are single volumes), is the inclusion of "The Abolition of Man" in the Signature Editions.
Q: The appearance of the Set Hi, there. Is this Lewis set as SAME as the pictures shown here (http://www.amazon.com/Lewis-Signature-Classics-Christianity-Screwtape/dp/0060653027/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295475197&sr=8-2)? I am asking this because I have just received from Amazon and they are completely different looking and also made with different material, so I am returning this. If you could even send me actual photos you take of these books, I would super super appreciate your kindness. Thank you.p.s. Basically this is what I do NOT want it to look like: http://www.amazon.com/Mere-Christianity-ebook/dp/B002BD2UR0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1295475538&sr=8-5
These are the softcover editions. You can view the covers on CBD stock numbers WW2926X, WW52934, WW2969X, WW652950, and WW52381. "Miracles" is not available separately.
