Product Description

In 1950, C.S. Lewis began a correspondence with an American lady he would never meet. Thirteen years later, his life - and letters - came to an end. These letters reveal facets of Lewis's character little known even to devoted readers of his fantasy and scholarly writings. Here is Lewis the man - generous, wise, compassionate, remarkably human. And, most significantly, here is Lewis the devoted Christian - patiently offering encouragement and guidance to another Christian through the day-to-day joys and sorrows of ordinary life.

C.S. Lewis' private correspondence is consistent with his books. This collection of responses sent to an American woman who initiated a correspondence with him shows his private thoughts and feelings, bringing to life the man who brought us Mere Christianity and The Chronicles of Narnia and other great books. This collection of letters provide a source of insight and teaching consistent with his work intended to be seen by the public. I bought this book to give away after re-reading a copy that I'd intended to give to someone else.
