I bought this to give to my young nephew about to go off to college. I'm glad I read through it first. Written by a very liberal theologian, this is book on philosophy, but not Christianity. It is difficult to have any authority in your position when it is not based on scripture. In fact, there is a lot of talk about "god" and "Jesus" but reference to the actual Word of God is strangely absent. I was very disappointed. If Coffin wants you to believe in liberal political causes he succeeds in at least making an emotional if not Biblical argument, but if his goal is to bring a wandering soul back to Christ, he has failed miserably.

An amazing, readable little book filled with wise advice. I hope to buy a copy for each of my children
