An excellent contribution to any theological library. I find Kruse's handling of the text exceptional. He is very careful to examine the context of Scripture surrounding the passages he exegetes. I believe he is faithful to the Greek. I really appreciate the sections in which he pauses and examines such things as fellowship, the beginning, etc. I would rate this as my favorite commentary that deals with Johanine texts.

Kruse has put together a fine volume here. The scholarship is excellent, I learned a lot. I will say that I think gives more credence to more critical views than some of his PNTC fellows do in their works. I would give the work a "5" rating but for that fact.
