Great book. It's stimulating and intriguing. It's definitely a page turner as you get caught up in the relationships of the contemporary characters while they try to unravel the mystery behind a sudden accident and lawsuit. To someone who is not medically inclined, it was neat to enter a world previously unknown yet delivered in such a palatable way. The twist at the end is unpredictable and catchy.

Page after page this medical mystery novel will keep the reader asking, "What will happen next?", but not only in the setting of this fictional storyline. The co-authors have used their intellectual musings to create a thought-provoking tale realistic enough to cause wonderment of how far medical efforts can and ethically should advance. This is a continually developing drama of a network of lives changed forever by the actions of a bright, eager embryologist who in his sincere efforts to "do good" produces a series of disastrous choices and events. I came to the end of the book with a definite desire to better educate myself in the current happenings of our medical research world and a determination to acquire enough complete and accurate information to support formulation of a personal ethical stance. This is an emotional, impactful reading that will challenge you to deeper thoughts.

Tell us a little about yourself. I teach Christian Journalism at Dallas Theol. Seminary (DTS), I edit the seminary's magazine, and I serve on the board of the Dallas/Fort Worth area Christian Medical & Dental Society. I am also a candidate for the ThM degree at DTS.
My coauthor is a licensed medical doctor
(Ob/Gyn)who is an ordained pastor, and who now teaches bioethics and spiritual formation at The Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Together we write a biweekly medical ethics
column and we have coauthored several books.
What was your motivation behind this project? After writing books on infertility and marital intimacy, we contributed to a book on Genetic Engineering. Eventually we determined that we would influence a wider audience by following Jesus' example of teaching important truths through the medium of
story.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Our desire was to tell a compelling story through which readers could look at the potential and pitfalls of stem cell research, the sanctity of marriage, and some of the ethical issues associated with reproductive technologies.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My favorite authors are Dostoevsky and Dickens. Modern favorites of mine would include Gene Peterson, Calvin Miller, Madeleine L'Engle, and John Grisham.
Dallas Seminary has a media arts track for
writers/artists, and the students and faculty there provided great feedback along the way.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Lethal Harvest is a medical thriller about an embryologist whose car crashes into the Potomac River shortly after his partner is served a subpoena. The remaining partner and the widow join together to explore the causes of these events, and what they find endangers their lives, too.
