I was delighted to discover this little book which carefully lays out five essentials on what our faith should be based on. I do prison ministry, and find this book exactly what is needed for people that are very new to (or contemplating) being born again, and needing solid scriptural guidance to keep them from wavering when they're on their own. Most of the ladies I see are one-time encounters before they are released or transferred, so this booklet is a powerful way to impact a life in a short amount of time. They absolutely love and treasure it when they are given one. Thank you.
I prefer this source over other sources that focus on 'behavior modification.' This short book focuses on the believers 'relationship' with Jesus and affirms salvation, which is very important for new believers. It's a good source for following up with new believers.
The class and I liked the book. It provided pictures, asked probing questions and challenged the students and myself to memorize scriptures as anchors of God's assurance. I would use this book again to teach on prayer, salvation, temptation and forgiveness to new Christians or to edify the body of Christ.
In the early 80's I was privileged to study from this small book. It impacted me so much that I have not been without a copy to give to some one or help a newcomer to Christ. I highly recommend that you use this book as intended and have a copy for that time when you can not disciple the person but need something to put in their hand that will impact their lives with the Gospel.
