When Rich walks back into her store asking her to finalize a divorce she thought was behind her, she thinks that the answer is to sign on the dotted line and move on. Except, Rich isn't making it so easy... and God has other plans.
For better or for worse, when you're legally wed, things can get complicated.
StepheniaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5After the I doNovember 26, 2012StepheniaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5While most romances follow a couple from their meeting to commitment, Legally Wed takes an entirely different approach. In this fresh take, Lisa and Rich got married in a whirlwind when they were only eighteen. But life was tougher than they planned and they soon found themselves divorced.
Or so they thought. Ten years later they find out they are still legally wed. When Rich returns to his hometown to get the legalities of the divorce finalized, old emotions begin to stir. To complicate things further, Rich's father is having an affair and his parent's marriage seems doomed.
Author Patty Froese does a brilliant job of building emotion. I really felt along with her characters. The town is vividly described, and I could easily see myself in the shop and walking the streets. This beautiful story deals with the harder things in life and shows a romance that has hurts, bumps and bruises along the way. It is deep, thought-provoking and real. I highly recommend this amazing story that pulls at the heart and leaves you thinking about it long after the final page.
Voracious ReaderNHAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5I loved it!!!November 23, 2012Voracious ReaderNHAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What wonderful characters Ms. Froese brings to us. I love Rich's smile and how it keeps drawing Lisa back, calling to her across the years. I love how Rich is willing to face his own mistakes and let God lead him forward. Her dad is great too, protective, but loving above all else.
I loved it! I loved the the way the truth is brought to light - what tore them apart the first time, and how maturity gives them the strength and understanding they didn't have the first time around.
What a wonderful story of how fragile young love really is, and what a sweet walk down memory lane!
In case you can't tell, I loved it!
