I've always heard such high reviews about Karen Kingsley's books, so possibly my expectations were too high but I thought this book was quite cutesy in a perfect world. Nicest looking, wealthy, boyfriends to choose from, great marriages, movie star, best dancer, and so on. There was no unpredictable moments in this book. Though it was a nice warm cozy kind of book, there was not much to relate to. Maybe I just bought the wrong book as a first Karen Kinglsey book. I was a bit bored with the book however.
This book is all about preparing to leave home to start out life in the real world as an adult. It reminds me the lyrics to a song, "it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday". We see Bailey and the live she has, the life she is letting go of, in order to pursue her dream career. In the books to follow, we will see if Bailey makes good use of the opportunity of a lifetime, acting in a Broadway show.
