I like the subtitle "Finding Your Place in the Heart of God." This is what Lazarus Awakening by Joanna Weaver is about. This is the third book in the Bethany series. I have the previous 2 books but have not read them yet.
This book has ten chapters, a bonus chapter, and appendixes which includes a study guide. This would be a great book to study in a women's Bible study group.
The chapters are on the long side. I am finding myself taking my time reading this book. Not because it's boring or uninteresting. But because there is much to take in (and also I don't have much time in my day to read since I am a homeschooling mom). I want to read a bit and think about it. Some parts makes me think about my relationship with God. For example, on page 37 under the heading Friend of God, Ms. Weaver writes, "What does it mean to be a friend of God? I'm talking about an honest-to-goodness, true-blue, when-the-chips-are-down kind of friend of God. I've felt the Lord challenging me with this very question. I'd like to think Jesus considers me a friend. But am I really? Am I someone He can feel safe with? Is my heart a place with plenty of room for Him to spread out and relax? Is mi casa truly His casa?" This section definitely made me ponder my answers to these questions.
I like the author's writing style, it moves along smoothly. Throughout the book, there are darker grey boxes with extras written inside. One of them is titled Faith That Rolls Away Stones.
If you want to improve your faith, strengthening it, growing closer to God, this book, I believe will be helpful to you.
I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

From the back cover: For many of us, moving the truth of Gods love from our heads to our hearts is a lifelong process.

In Lazarus Awakening, the final book in her life-changing Bethany trilogy, Joanna Weaver invites you to experience a divine shift in how you view your relationship with God.
Shattering spiritual formulas for performance-driven faith, Lazarus Awakening clears a path to sweet intimacy with Jesus. Youll encounter the story of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus in a fresh way as you open your heart to the truth that you are cherishedapart from anything you accomplish, apart from anything you bring. Just as He called Lazarus forth to new life, Jesus wants to free you to live fully in the light of His love, unhindered by fear, regret, or self-condemnation.
This edition includes:
a bible study guide for both individual reflection and group discussion
a bonus chapter on laying aside everything that hinders your life with Jesus
tools and resources for living fully and freely as Gods beloved
No more graveclothes, no more tombs Love is calling your name.
At the beginning of each chapter Ms. Weaver has a page that provides the specific verses from John Chapters eleven and twelve that she focuses on in the chapter. This way you know what the Bible says before she expounds on it. Okay everyone knows Lazarus dies and then four days later Jesus called him out of the tomb. There is a lot of drama in the story of Lazarus. And then there is a lot of depth. When we look closely we can find a lot of Lazarus in each of us. There is a moment in the book when Ms. Weaver teaches us to pray everyday, Lord, wake me every day. Ms. Weaver provides fresh insights into a major event in the Bible. This is a book that we should read slowly so that we capture all of the rich detail that Ms. Weaver provides us. Eleven chapters that can help transform us. There is even a study guide at the end. I believe that this is a book for all of us that we might actually read more than once because of its richness. I also believe that this would make a great gift for friends and family so that they could be transformed as well.

What a blessing to be able to watch the DVD study for Lazarus Awakening: Finding Your Place in the Heart of God!
My husband and I felt as if we were on an adventure together as we viewed the messages of Joanna Weaver teaching in locations all around the Holy Land.
We were touched by Joannas passion for the message and by her compassionate style! She shares so beautifully how God cares for each individual person. The Bible does not mention any special gifts or talents that Lazarus has, yet Jesus loved him.
Waterbrook Press books provided me with a free copy of Lazarus Awakening for my honest review.
