Product Description

Next to the 23rd Psalm, perhaps the most beloved and certainly the best-known passage in Scripture is the Lord's prayer. The profound, eternal concepts compressed into its few, concise phrases shine with enduring brilliance. But despite its brevity, it has been an enormous benefit to many. In this book W. Phillip Keller, author of A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, shares what The Lord's Prayer means to him.

Publisher's Description

"There is inherent in the Lord's Prayer all the strength and compassion of our Father in heaven. There moves through it a beauty and serenity which no mortal man can fully explain. It reassures our hearts, strengthens our resolve, and lead us into personal contact with God, our Father."

An "ordinary man and a child of God", W. Phillip Keller shares with you what these Scriptures have meant to him.

Author Bio

W. PHILLIP KELLER (1920-1997) was born in East Africa and always loved the wildlife and the outdoors. His experiences as a shepherd equipped him with the insights that are the basis for A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23. His other titles include A Layman Looks at the Lord's Prayer, Splendor from the Sea, Lessons from a Sheepdog, and A Gardener Looks at the Fruits of the Spirit.

I have been reading Keller's books for years. He writes for me! I am studying the Disciples' Prayer this year and wanted his insights into that for my study. Who could pass up such an opportunity. Keller is a very gifted author. His books on the 23rd Psalm, The Shepherd are priceless.

This is my second Keller book. The first, "...23rd Psalm," and now this one. I can't begin to express the sensations I have experienced, the blessings, nor the deep areas of my heart that were touched. Each time I pick it up to continue reading I always need a tissue box nearby. I am almost finished reading now, but I couldn't resist sharing what I have received from this dear, little book so far. I am thankful to God for those writers that have a deep sense of expression which provides a greater understanding of the significance of His Holy Word.

This book is true to Phillip Keller's style: practical, down to earth, yet very inspirational. The price was good and the service fast and efficient. I enjoy doing business with CBD.

We have had a good response to A Layman Looks at the Lord's Prayer during our adult Sunday School class. Many say they say the prayer differently and more thoughtfully. This is the third Phillip Keller book we have used and each one has been a blessing!

WOW! If only Christ's church truly understood this prayer as Phillip Keller does, His sheep would have no problem obeying Romans 12:1-2. We would race to lay down our lives as our 'Spiritual' service of worship because we would know, with understanding & by experiencing, our Holy God!
