Are you aware of the hidden dangers planted by Satan along your spiritual path? Helping you navigate the devil's minefield, Stanley shows how to identify, avoid, and defuse seven explosive booby traps that can derail your faith---pride, jealousy, insecurity, compromise, unforgiveness, sexual sin, and laziness. A must-have survival guide for your Christian journey! 256 pages, hardcover from Nelson.
Satan doesnt usually hit us with an all-out frontal attack. Its the little landmines that do the most damage. Theyre hidden just below lifes surface, and at the slightest misstep-BOOM! Suddenly you find yourself flown right off the path, feeling separated from God and His blessings, humiliated, estranged from the love and respect of friends and family.
Dr. Charles Stanley addresses nine main landmines that every Christian needs to be able to identify:
- Pride
- Jealousy and Envy
- Insecurity
- Compromise
- Unforgiveness
- Disappointment
- Fear
- Immorality
- Laziness
Life may be a minefield, but that doesnt mean you have to live in fear. Dr. Stanley spells out the biblical principles for avoiding and defusing each of these landmines. In the midst of spiritual warfare, this book is a call to live in the strong peace of God.

The author seemed to be forced to fill a certain number of pages as he reiterated so his points page after page in each chapter. Sometimes he would use several examples, and other times he would simply repeat his paragraphs from a few pages earlier. Also, the term "landmines" really didn't fit with some of the problems he brought up. Really, not a very good book. It just seemed like the author was forced to write something and in doing so, he repeated a few key points with lackluster prose.

Charles Stanley is one of my favorite authors to help believers understand in clear terms what the Bible says. In this book we are given specific instuctions as to what to avoid so we don't fall into the minefield of sin.

I read this book and decided after reading that the church could use it as Sunday school material. I developed sunday school material around it and asked for permission first and he gave the okay. Come next year in February I will be teaching using his book as the base for my lessons.
