The Kodaly Method introduces skills in line with capabilities of the child; it is only after the child becomes familiar with a concept that notation is introduced. Concepts are consistently reviewed by the incorporation of games, movement, songs, and exercises; note values and timing are learned through syllables (for example, expressing 8th notes as ti-ti), and rhythmic movements.

This workbook focuses on copying, dictation, and the creative work of composition. Exercises include drawing in the missing beats, finishing rhythms, making interesting rhythms from simple ones, and other types of exercises. Grades K-6. These workbooks may be used to supplement the Threshold to Music program.
