I rated this Bible three stars for the lack of quality control within the text.
The Holman text of the KJV in this particular Bible misspells "certain" in Acts 9:10. It is spelled as "cerain." There are various other Holman KJV Bibles that contain the same misspelling. I did contact the publisher, B&H Publishing Group, and informed them of this misspelling. They were very professional and courteous in acknowledging the misspelling. But, I cannot recommend any KJV Bible from Holman until this has been corrected. All KJV editions after Nov 2014 should have the correct spelling.
The Holman KJV Study Bible Is a very nice and well put together Bible. For me it makes finding and learning the word of our Lord eaiser and so enjoyable to read. I love to read out of the KJV version. Although I get lost at times with word meanings, reading the KJV version brings it back to the day. I believe you can't go wrong with this well put together great looking Bible. I also have the Holman HCSB Reference Bible, and now the The Crossway ESV Study Bible All Great to follow and learn the word!
This KJV study bible is an absolute must have for the serious bible student! It has not only expository notes, but archealogical pictures and notes as well. It opens up the world of the people and places as it helps bring the bible to life! Love this bible!
This study bible is perfect for anyone who is wanting to learn more about the Bible. While its important to remember that the study notes are written by humans and may contain some errors, overall it is very informative and accurate. The study notes are more conservative leaning which is exactly what I was looking for. The Bible came in perfect condition and looks wonderful. I use the Bible everyday and am very pleased with my purchase. I definitely have no regrets about this purchase.
If you are a disciple of Dallas Theological Seminary and her prophets, or if you embrace Zionism / Dispensationalism / Millennialism, or of you support the Civil Rights Movement in the USA, then this is the bible for you! If none of these private interpretations match yours, then you won't like this KJV bible edition. Why do publishers continue to produce study notes full of cunningly devised fables for the church today? There always seems to be the need to better clarify what the Holy Spirit said, as is the case with this bible. It will take some time to edit the notes so that an unsuspecting reader will not be led astray. (If I had wanted this kind of bias, I would been as well off with a 100 year old Scofield bible.) The mantova brown simulated leather cover is nice.
