Doug Bond's novels do more than entertain. They educate. Bond weaves the voices of Samuel Rutherford and John Knox into the historical tapestry of war, civil disobedience, rebellion, justice, father's love and family devotion. The books are for boys, but this boy of 60 found himself rooting for Duncan and Angus in the heather of the highlands. Good stuff to help young teens understand current foreign affairs.

Jessica5 Stars Out Of 5May 24, 2004JessicaThere are two books so far in the "Crown and Covanent" series, and so far, I think that this is the best! I love the action and adventure and you just can't put it down! Douglas Bond has real talent! I recommend this to boys AND girls, even though it is mostly supposed to be for boys. I think that anyone would enjoy this from 7-99!
