Didn't care for this book at all. Some of the languare and the way the author expressed himself, I did not care for at all. I know you have better books on the parables of Jesus than this particural one. Thank you.

A collection of initially three books written by Capon, the material presented is one of the most poignant writings on grace I have encountered. Capon's combination of scholarship, love for God's word (absent the modern-day scholastic bull) and sense of humor make the book a delightful, mind and heart-challenging read. For those among us who typically fail to realize the line between "good" and "evil" in men is quite then, while the line between His ways and our ways are more vast than could ever be imagined, Capon's work is a powerful reminder of who we tend to be. Just when I would think I was going to be completely put off by something said, almost as if my mind was being read, Capon would counter with a comment which challenged me in productive ways. A must read for anyone calling him or herself a believer whether you agree with Capon's theses or not.

These essays helped me see the familiar parables through fresh eyes. I particularly remember Capon's unifying thesis that Jesus lived his life as a parable.
