Product Description

Whether you're looking for preparation for geometry, a remedial course or a basic refresher, Key to Geometry is a non-threatening way to gain a working, practical knowledge of the subject. Students begin by drawing lines and bisecting angles, eventually working their way to sophisticated constructions involving over a dozen steps. When the course has been completed, students will have been introduced to 134 geometric terms and will be ready to geometric proofs. 55 pages, paperback.

Workbook 1 covers lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, points, accuracy, rays, angles and more.

I bought the "Key To Geometry" books (and also the "Key to Metric" books) to use as a supplemental for extra practice and such. For that purpose I think they are fine. Each book is very simple to read and understand and each builds upon the other. My daughter (age 12) is able to do the work in each book all on her own with very little input from me and she checks her answers with the answer key purchased separately. It's a great way to keep what she has learned fresh in her memory (we are using these during the spring & summer to ensure she will retain what she has already learned) and a great way to help her gain understanding in areas she is about to learn. The books are small enough that she can complete one in a week (2 weeks for books 7 & 8) with only spending about an hour or so each day. She likes the freedom of going at her own pace and I like the fact that she is getting more practice. The books are thin paper back and are only in black and white but for us that's not a problem because we are more interested in the material provided within and not what it looks like. (I. e. colored pictures)

An excellent set of easy to accomplish workbooks! We homeschool, we have used Key to Algebra as a summer prep, now we are starting The Key to Geometry series in the same manner. These workbooks are broken down into manageable, bit size pieces. I believe they set an excellent foundation!

This whole series of books has been great for my math resistant 8th grader. We've homeschooled since 3rd grade and used these for 2 years now, they are the only thing that he's been willing to do in math. I think it's the feeling of small, easy to take bits of information and the frequent feeling of accomplishment in completing a book.
