Effective and engaging, Sproul does not shy away from difficult theological terms and ideas, but capably guides readers through this famous doctrinal dispute. To those who decry the doctrines of imputation and justification by faith alone as "legal fiction," Sproul warns that nothing less than the central message of the gospel is at stake.

This republished work outlines the doctrine of justification by faith. Clearly written and rich in theology, it will challenge readers to think discerningly about the implications of the doctrine's historic dispute.

He goes through the past and present misinterpretations of the doctrine of justification, and the Lutheran principle of Solas Fide, and leaves out all the fluff. Overall I believe it to be a good read for anybody regardless of their maturity in Christ.
