Product Description

Sixth-grader Kate Harding has bigger problems than trying to get her parents to stop calling her "Katie". She has a major crush on her older brother's best friend: Zachary Donaldson. In a moment of insanity she dares to write his name on the bathroom wall in eight-inch high pencil letters. It doesn't take Principal Butter long to math the hand writing to doodling on her book covers. Kate is sent to detention where she meets up with three new friends who decided to become the Secret Keeper Girl Club. Her case of boy craziness is doused with some good advice from her new friends.

I did like this book, but it may not be as good as some of the lily books by nancy rue. I have it and the rest of the series about how 4 girls form this club through detention and each story is about the same thing, just different points of view.

This review was written for Just Call Me Kate.
Very well written and appropriate for middle school girls. The situations are humorous and poignant, but they also seem very realistic. I think most "tween" girls will relate to Kate and her friends. The book has a great message about godly living for young girls without beating them over the head with it. It has great discussion questions in the back to encourage deeper reflection. I can't wait to pass this on to my friends with girls this age and to read the other Secret Keeper Girl books!
