The author has mastered the portrayal of partial-application of faith to life. The plot continuously takes unexpected twists and turns, keeping the readers attention effortlessly. It is not a typical Christian romance; it is primarily a story of growth and healing. The relationships between the characters are realistic and intense, and they draw in the reader. The entire book is an unforgettable experience.
Maggie Montgomery has been running from her past for years and making a successful living in the world of television, but failing in the world of love. Out of the blue comes a phone call from the father who, she is convinced, has never loved her. He begs her to help him care for young Riley. Maggie agrees and finds herself on the road to healing for Riley, for her father, and for herself.
Maggie is wild, headstrong, and fearful. She is the personification of many strong women of today who overcame (or, rather, shoved down) bad childhood experiences and became financially successful. She has the partial-application faith that so many of us have, and she deals with her problems the same way that many of us would. The other characters are also unique, intense, and very realistic. Their relationships with each other and with Maggie are believable, and it is easy to empathize with them.
Overall, I was very impressed with the book. Its depth and accuracy were pleasantly surprising, and its characters were relatable and loveable. It is an excellent novel, especially for female readers. Becky Blomenberg, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com

I remember the first time I picked up a novel by this author. Everyone was mentioning how funny it was so I was thinking it'd be a chick-lit type of story.
Boy, oh boy was I wrong.
And even now, three books later I can truly say that Jenny's talent doesn't fail to amaze me. Once again.
There's no doubt about it, this book is funny or more like hilarious! But Jenny also knows how to involve (in one work) very profound lessons, relatable characters, an admirable style of writing and overall a very-well thought conception behind the story.
The romance in this is the white-hot kind that will have readers fanning themselves if they read in the middle of the night. The hero Connor is a tall, tender-hearted, funny guy who almost never loses his cool. Maggie has the heart of lioness (she's a very lovely character) and I have no doubt that you'll enjoy witnessing the depth of her beauty unravel in the story as she learns to step out in faith.
What an adventure! What a writer!
I was left wanting nothing more and nothing less. And even now I am recalling passages in the story I'd like to re-read.
I highly recommend her!

Jones is an awesome writer! She has the ability to write a book that the reader feels like they are a part of. I felt like I could relate to everyone of the characters and I felt like I was right there beside them going through things just as they were.
This book deal with lots of issues that sometimes we as Christians tend to take a backseat approach to. That is not what God wants us to do and this book shows how one woman was able to deal with her life issues and became closer to God.
Lisa5 Stars Out Of 5Really Great Book!February 4, 2011LisaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I think I found a new favorite author! This book is quite funny with subtle wit and really deals with the issues that we all have with fear in one way or another. The author keeps the book very interesting and I looked forward to my time when I got to sit down and read it! Not every book is like that, by the way, so the author did a great job. You'll enjoy it!
Rambling Reader5 Stars Out Of 5Just Between You and Me: This One's A Page-Turner!January 19, 2011Rambling ReaderQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The cover of Just Between You and Me notes that it is "A novel of losing fear and finding God." That statement tidily sums up the main premise of the story, which teaches readers important lessons about life and faith, while maintaining a refreshing since of realism and humor. I generally gravitate to the historical Christian fiction genre because I often find modern fiction unrelatable and at times too heavy on sarcasm and too light on inspiration. Although Just Between You and Me contains sarcastic banter between the characters, I found it enjoyable and engaging. I immediately connected with the main character Maggie. Since the story is written in first person, I found it easy to understand Maggie's fears, struggles, and personality quirks.
Siri Mitchell's The Cubicle Next Door is responsible for drawing me into modern Christian fiction, and Jenny B. Jones' novels Just Between You and Me and Save the Date have just earned spots right next door in my book collection. Just Between You and Me is a novel that I highly recommend to fellow readers, and I am adding Jenny B. Jones to my favorite author list right now...
Elizabeth Cain4 Stars Out Of 5a light novel with captivating charactersOctober 30, 2010Elizabeth CainQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5I really enjoyed this novel as it was not too heavy of a read but was still able to hold my interest. The tense in which it was written took some time to adjust to, however, it was a satisfying read.
