I really don't like this curriculum. It is hard for an 8 yr old to understand the terms they use in these books and the funny 'buzzwords'. I also believe it moves kind of slow. The sentences they give as examples are also complicated.
I wanted to step down from the more advanced ABeka Language, but it feels like I stepped into a pot hole with Junior Analytical. So I am seriously considering replacing this with some other language curriculum; however for now we're stuck with it since it wasn't free.
Q: Does the student workbook include a glossary? This curriculum looks wonderful. I can really appreciate the order in how the material seems to presented and how each concept is built upon each other, but I don't see a glossary listed in the table of contents. Does it have one? We've used curriculums that included a glossary and ones that have not, but both my children and I have found them to be very helpful to maintain their workflow to the task on hand. Without it the student needs the teacher to refresh them (if I'm assisting another student they must wait), or they have to find the lesson where it was explained, or they stop to use a dictionary or computer to look it up. It's much easier if the terms are included in alphabetical order as one section for the entire workbook (not per chapter). One curriculum we used had a glossary that included an example for each word in addition to the definition. The glossary was a Godsend, but unfortunately the concepts were taught randomly and weren't built upon one another. So, we were wondering if A.G. includes a glossary. Thank you!
No - the Workbook does not have a glossary.
