Great in history, adventure and Christian beliefs!
These books were great in historical information about the gold rush period in California. They expanded to the workings of the politics around three presidential elections as well as travel across the US. The adventure factor was also woven into the story in a great way. Best of all, the Christian faith and growth in fellowship and knowledge of God were the best I've seen in a long while. I loved them and I'm buying a set for others in my family to read. I've already given away my set. Great series.

Excellent Historical Fiction Series!
This eight-book series is a great find! These books chronicle the journey of the character of Corrie Belle Hollister through her younger years, into adulthood. She aspires to become a newspaper writer, even though newspaper editors do not take her seriously as a female writer during that time period. Throughout the entire series, Corrie interacts with a variety of well-developed characters, all of whom help to shape this series into a really solid story line. At first, I thought that 8 books would drag on, but that is not the case with this series! What I enjoyed most is that the author, Michael Phillips, shows such a genuine demonstration of deep faith throughout these books. He does not "water down" the series with only a mention or two of God; rather, he explores through the characters how God works and impacts the lives of those who know, trust, and love Him. I believe this series is well worth the read if you enjoy the genre of historical fiction with a strong Christian message.

This series is the first Christian novel series I ever read. A friend loaned me one of the books (not the first one in the series) and it was so good, I went out and bought the rest. That was over 15 years ago and I still have them. I can't wait until this series is available as ebooks.
