Josh Groban music does come from his heart & his voice does affect your heart no matter what he is singing. His Christmas album is the best I have heard in that catagory. How sad two reviews are so small minded. Thank You
I find it laughable that some people choose to rate an album like this because of what they perceive to be "Godless" content. How about writing a review based on the display of musicality? What about the beauty and the expressiveness? There is true talent on this recording and it's a shame that some people can't see past their prejudices in order to experience it. Sheesh, people, lighten up. Not every single CD in a person's collection has to be explicitly Christian in order to have some merit.
I feel blessed to have found Josh's music. I saw him on a television show and was amazed! I went out the next day and bought the CDs that they had of his music. It is wonderful to relax to. I started putting it in when I was putting my 2 year old to bed. She just turned 6 and knows every song! My husband & I also fall to sleep listening to his wonderful voice. I am glad that he shares his talent with us. If you are under stress, this is for you, I promise you won't be disappointed)
This man is definitely talented, and if you are looking for entertainment, an emotional,or a feel good experience you may find what you want here. Altogether, however, I don't believe this to be a collection that causes one to worship God in their heart. Isn't that what godly music is about? To provoke true worship, not just to evoke emotions. The majority of these songs could be directed to a human lover just as easily as they could be relagated to the character of the Lord Jesus Christ. I would not recommend this collection to someone who is looking for music to help them grow in Christ or establish a pattern of prayer throughout the day. The background music is largely good, not too rocky most of the time.
This CD is completely devoid of spiritual nourishment! The lyrics are so empty! They only talk about temporary love and lust! Also, the lyrics that are in another language make me uncomfortable- I don't know what he is singing about when he sings in French. And the lyrics in Italian and Spanish are so Godless and worthless. The only good point of this album is "You Raise Me Up." It has an ok message but it is mostly repetition. This album will not give you positive Christian lyrics that make you think- just empty songs about temporary "love."
