Love the History and John's straightforward interpretation. Could do without the Cessationism. All in all not a bad modern commentary set.

Great commentary for pastors and/or lay people. His use of alliteration makes his outlines memorable even though sometimes the uses may be stretched. I would definitely recommend this to any student of the Bible at such an affordable price. Good, conservative theology adds to the value.

The John Phillips Commentary is an excellent selection for study if you like his conservative theological position. Also, if you enjoy the alliteration method of Bible examination, you will surely enjoy this 19 volume commentary. Some of the alliteration seems to be "forced," but this method still works. For anyone preparing sermons and weekly Bible study in a church or parachurch setting, you would find this commentary quite useful.
