I bought 60 of these and put in the best of batteries to pass out at church and to friends at home. About 10 of these could not be made to work. But the ones that did were really enjoyed. It was fun to give out.

You do have to put your own AA battery in them, but for the price they are what I expected. We are putting them in college care packages & used some of them at a bon fire, if you drop 1 the light goes off, switch isn't dependable, but they'll do.
