I am a foster parent of a family of 5 kids ages K - 7th grade. They are new to the Christian faith and are really enjoying reading these at family devotion time. Every story points to Jesus being our rescuer - something they can identify with. The illustrations are great and the length of each story just right. Although sometimes they make me read another! I am also a children's pastor and fully approve of the retelling of these Bible stories - not too much content, not too little.
my biggest boys (ages 6 and 3) both got bibles for Christmas, so my husband and I were looking for something for our 15 month old. This fit the bill, and he loves it! As soon as he opened it, he climbed up in Daddy's lap and began flipping through it. He has brought it to us several times for a story, and each story has ended up involving the whole family.
I liked it so much that i ordered copies for my nieces and nephews (ages 3,2,1 and 6 months)
I recognize that it's not intended to be the final bible that he will ever own but it is quite nice, especially for young toddlers.
I bought this book for my grandchildren but I was so impressed with it that I bought one for myself. Sally Lloyd-Jones does the best job of telling the whole story of God and His amazing plan to bring people to Him. I love it so much that I am always looking for people to give it to. It is not just for children. I highly recommend getting the edition with the CDs. I love listening to it whenever I am travelling. It just makes me happy.
The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name

I bought one of these for each of my kindergarten and first grade students. Well written and magnificent art on most pages. My hope is that each one of my students will start working on reading it for themselves and that my students' parents will also take time to read it to them!
